VITAMIN C SMOOTHIE RECIPE

Smoothies are one of my favourite things to drink in the summer months, especially fruity ones like this as a kickstart to the day. This simple recipe is packed full of Vitamin C and antioxidants to get your skin glowing and build up your immunity against summer colds.
I never measure quantities for smoothies or juices; the great thing about them is being able to chuck in whatever you have and coming out with something different each time. For this recipe I used:

A few chucks of pineapple, one carrot, half a mango, a handful or strawberries, the juice of two large oranges and half a large lemon, a small glass of coconut water and a big chunk of ginger
It's as easy as chucking all the ingredients in, blending and then stirring in some chia seeds. You could use frozen fruit or ice to make the smoothie cold, but I just popped mine in the fridge for around twenty minutes before drinking.
As well as trying to get some Vitamin C into my body every day, I love using it on my skin. The Vitamin C range from The Body Shop range is perfect for summer mornings, as the fruity scent is so uplifting. The range focuses on enhancing and brightening the skin, and I love the instant glow enhancer* for this. A little bit applied to the tops of the cheeks, down the nose and on to the cupids bow catches the light and brightens up the face. I don't find the moisturiser* to brighten my skin at all, but it is light and refreshing, especially if you keep it in the fridge. It sinks in quickly, but as it doesn't contain SPF you'll probably need to apply something else with it. The energizing face spritz* has a lovely concentrated orange scent, and whilst it's too wet to use as a setting spray, it's a great pick me up for a tired face throughout the day.
Have you tried anything from the Vitamin C range? Let me know your favourite smoothie recipes, or if you try this one?

  8. Love the idea of this smoothie, I am definitely going to try it with my new Nutriblend blender! Even with the ginger, not usually a fan, but I think the other flavours will work well.
