THE HOLIDAY BASE | BOBBI BROWN TINTED MOISTURISER

This recent heatwave and a few mini-breaks have led to an intense search for the perfect holiday base. I usually wear a sheer coverage foundation, but when it's hot I like to strip it back even further. Having tried a number of high-street offerings, and found them all to be lacking something I knew it was time to invest in something good.
The Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer provides minimal coverage, but hides any redness and evens out my complexion. When I have this on I don't need to wear concealer on any scars or blemishes, but I do like to pop some under my eyes to brighten my skin up. The medium to dark shade is the perfect colour match for my skin; on good days I only apply this to parts of my face, and it blends out to match my skin tone perfectly. With eight shades in the range, you know you'll get a better colour match than anything in the drugstore.
I love how easy this is to apply and blend out, either with fingers or my RT buffing brush, depending on what I have to hand. Despite being a tinted 'moisturiser' I like to wear my usual moisturiser underneath, as I have quite dry skin. It contains SPF 15, which is always a bonus, as my current moisturiser doesn't have any. What are your favourite lighter bases, or do you go completely au naturel on holiday?

  2. I've heard good things about this before! I don't have bad skin so sometimes on holiday I don't wear any make up at all, but most of the time I use a tinted moisturiser or Smashbox's CC cream which is really good and SPF 30 so perfect for hols! xx

    1. Oh that must be so easy! I don't wear any makeup on beach days but if I'm dressing up at all I like to have some coverage. I've heard good things about the Smashbox CC cream so I'll definitely give that a go after this xx

  3. This sounds amazing, my skin just needs coverage for redness and the odd blemish so this would be perfect! Do you think this would suit an oiler complexsion?x

    1. It's aimed more towards normal-dry skin, but my forehead and nose does get a little bit oily in summer and so I just use this with some setting powder over the top. I find it works really well at covering redness and blemishes throughout the day, and with powder over the top I don't get too shiny. Let me know if you try it xx

  4. I tend to use Mac Prep and Prime to get rid of my blemishes, although it's running out so maybe I should try Bobbi Brown next?

    1. Oh I really wasn't a fan of that product, I just found that most high street BB creams didn't last through the day but it's great that it works for you xx

  6. This looks gorgeous! I have used quite a few bobbi brown products before that I absolutely love - the concealer and corrector in particular. This seems perfect for summer that it hides redness with minimal coverage- definitely one to have a look at!

  8. I have the Bobby Brown BB cream which contains SPF 35 and I really like that. I wonder what the difference between the two products would be. This one sounds good so I'd like to give it a try also.

    1. I was curious about the difference between the two products, so I asked the MUA and she said that the main differences are the SPF and the fact that the BB cream has more benefits for your skin, such as brightening over time and anti-ageing ingredients. I tried both and found the tinted moisturiser to feel lighter on my skin and it blended out to match my skin tone better. Hope that helps x
