THE LODGE AT MEDIA CITY UK

On Saturday I ventured to MediaCityUK with some friends to visit the Imperial War Museum and the Lowry Outlet. We'd just filled up with pancakes at Bill's in town and really weren't planning on having to anything to eat, when a lady walked up to us and said "Free food, free mulled wine this way." Not ones to turn down a good offer we wandered over to The Lodge, a brand new pop-up venture. Think giant teepee on the outside, and fairy lit festive haven inside. The space is cosy and inviting, with picnic style benches, furs and blankets to keep you warm and hay bales surrounding a fire pit.

Despite having just eaten we managed to have a couple of cheeky mulled wines each, a large poppy seeded pretzel, and sample a dish called Choucroute; a dish of smoked pork belly, ham hock, and cured sausage with herby mashed potato. My friend also had a chicken burger, which looked fantastic. Hot dogs, a mushroom, broccoli and black bean burger and soup of the day were also on the menu. Everything was really reasonably priced, with dishes ranging from £3-5. The Lodge is a perfect spot to shelter from the cold, enjoy a drink or grab a quick lunch. It's also next to the Media City Ice Rink, so the best spot to recover with a hot drink. Situated just by the MediaCity tram stop, The Lodge is open everyday until Christmas Eve, from 11am-11pm. Follow @TheLodgeMCUK for more info.

Will you be heading down to The Lodge this Christmas?

This place looks amazing and the food seems like a really reasonable price! Can't wait to have my first mulled wine of the season...then it will start to feel officially like xmas!!

    1. I had mine a bit earlier than usual, but I can't wait to have more now.. Not letting myself have any mince pies yet, for the exact same reason! X
