PERFUME 004 | JO MALONE ENGLISH PEAR & FREESIA COLOGNE

"The essence of autumn. The sensuous freshness of just-ripe pears is wrapped in a bouquet of white freesias, and mellowed by amber, patchouli and woods. Luscious and golden."

Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia Cologne is not a product my student budget can afford, so when I received this scent as a gift I was overjoyed. First of all, can we just take a second to note how damn pretty this bottle is going to look perched on my dressing table.
What I like most about this fragrance is the balance between the sweet notes and the warmer undertones. On first spritz the scent is just like opening a large jar of pear drops, and then you can start to smell the freesias.. It isn't sickeningly fruity or sweet, and as it dries down warmer notes of amber and patchouli come through. This is a lovely product for September, it makes me think of autumn rain, new starts and woodland walks.

Do you have a favourite Jo Malone scent? I am incredibly tempted by the new Wood Sage & Sea Salt collection..
