SKIN SAVIOUR: SERUM

Recently I've been making an effort to step up my skincare routine. Serums are a something I've always been desperate to try but with many of them costing upwards of £25 I've never been able to justify spending so much on one product.. So imagine my excitement when I discovered both of these drugstore gems.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Serum at £11 is the cheaper product, but my personal favourite. I use this nightly to calm my skin and give it that much needed boost of moisture. I apply this after using the eye cream and before using the moisturiser from the same range. This leaves my skin soft and supple the following morning. The product is housed in plastic packaging with a pump, making it easy to dispense the right amount. The consistency is gel like, really soothing and easy to apply, and the smell is not at all overpowering. Watch out for TBS 3for2 offers, which is when I like to stock up on skincare.

Super Facialist Vitamin C Glow Boost Skin Serum is slightly more pricey at £16 (however, it's usually on offer in Boots for around £11). This product claims to "deeply replenish, boost collagen synthesis and enhance the appearance of skin", and says that for best results, this should be used daily for a minimum of 3 weeks. I've been using this every morning for 2 weeks now, and my skin looks brighter and clearer already. The only downside is that the recommended "pea-size amount" barely covers my face, let alone my neck too so this product isn't as good value as TBS's version. The consistency is much more like a moisturiser and it absorbs easily. The smell of this is again very inoffensive with just a hint of oranges. I find that this works best under moisturiser in the morning for an added little glow.

So what do you think? Will you be adding these serums to your skincare routine?
