THE WEEKLY WANT #7 .. BACK TO BASICS

It's well into January now but that doesn't mean all the sale bargains have gone. I always make sure to stock up on basics during the sale, those go-with-everything pieces that will see me through the year.
  1. These ASOS tee's come in white, grey and black and are perfect for layering.
  2. Cashmere jumpers can be a great sales purchase. This fresh yellow one is from Uniqlo.
  3. This silk and cotton Zara jumper comes in three colours and is a perfect officewear staple.
  4. No sales haul would be complete without a breton top. Again, from Zara.
Have you stocked up on some wardrobe staples in the sales?

P.S.. Pick up some home basics from Zara too - almost everything is reduced.

NEW LOOK WEDGE TRAINERS

I picked up these Wedge Trainers from New Look whilst I was on the hunt for some black ankle boots. They fasten with laces and a buckle, but mine slip on and off which is good as I am super lazy when it comes to doing up shoes! The wedge heel means they are easy to walk in, and perfect for adding a bit of glam to your look without compromising on comfort. They add a bit of something to a basic jeans and jumper look, and in the summer, bare legs, ankle socks and a dress will be my outfit of choice.

Do you own any wedge trainers?

PERFUME 003 | GHOST SWEETHEART

"Love is in the air, beguiling you with the tender-sweet innocence of new, young love. Feminine, sensual and enchanting, GHOST Sweetheart is a modern oriental floral fragrance that touches the spirit of today's young, romantic woman"

GHOST Sweetheart is a soft, delicate fragrance, that lingers on the skin all day. It's not very strong when you first spritz it on but I was impressed with it's lasting power. It starts off citrusy and fresh, with top notes of lemon, pineapple and spearmint, and then blends into something much more floral and nutty. It contains heart notes of jasmine, white rose petals and lily of the valley, and musky base notes such as vanilla, sandalwood and oakmoss. It is a lovely, fresh, spring fragrance, particularly for those who don't like overpowering florals. The tall pink bottle is simple and elegant, as are most of the GHOST perfumes, and they all make beautiful additions to any dressing table. With 30ml selling for around £20, GHOST Sweetheart would be a perfect springtime present.

Have you tried any GHOST perfumes? Is one of them your signature scent?

TWENTY FOURTEEN.. THE YEAR OF MINI GOALS

  • Be more organised
  • Get fit, lose weight etc.
  • Blog more
  • Study harder
  • Drink more water
  • blah blah blah..
The list goes on and most of you will recognise these as things everyone wants to improve. Instead of feeling guilty when next Christmas rolls around and I still haven't achieved my aims, I've decided to do away with New Year's resolutions and work on mini-goals each month. So for January, as my focus will be exams and revision, my aims are:
  1. Stick to my revision schedule - this means waking up and going to bed around the same time, and doing all of my revision early on in the day when my concentration is at it's highest. This will also allow for evenings off to catch up on blogs and tv as a reward for hard work.
  2. Go to Zumba four times this month - usually when I have deadlines, all exercise regimes fall away, so I'm starting small, and aiming for a class a week.
  3. Drink two herbal teas per day - they are great for concentration when revising, and will also boost my water intake which is usually next to nothing in the colder months.
Do you have any New Years resolutions? Have you set smaller goals this year to help to achieve large ones?
