WHAT DID I BUY FROM AMERICA?

I didn't get much of a chance to go shopping when I was over in Florida, as we spent the majority of the holiday at the wedding and then on the cruise. I did however, wander into Sephora, Bath & Body Works and of course Walmart, where I found some absolute gems. The Revlon nail polishes were a steal at $3 and I also picked up a LA Colours calcium nail treatment and an OPI gold shatter polish for a mere $2 each. I'm sure that the L'Oreal Telescopic Explosion mascara isn't available over here, but I'm hoping it will be drugstore dupe for my favourite Givenchy mascara. Burts Bees tinted lipbalm was on sale for a dollar.. And Seche Vite for $4! The Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush is again a product not available in UK drugstores, but it's something I have wanted to try for ages so watch out for my thoughts on it! The Rimmel eyeshadow quads were on sale, and as I mostly have larger palettes which aren't great for travelling I thought these would make a nice basic neutral (019) and smoky (026) eye when I am away from home.

Unfortunately towards the end of my holiday I suffered from a really bad breakout. I'm not sure what caused it but I had large red bumps on my skin which were extremely painful. My aunt bought me some triple antibiotic gel to calm them down and it worked a treat. Whilst not a spot treatment as such, it really soothed my skin, and would be great for cuts, burns and bites too. In Walmart I was reunited with an old favourite: Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash. A a product I used for years, it kept my skin feeling healthy and kept spots at bay, until they stopped producing it in England. Now they may well have changed the formula - I am pretty sure they have changed the name - but, it's worth a try and I will report back to you after a few weeks use. I really wanted to try out a Neutrogena foundation, but none of the stores seemed to have any testers!

From Bath & Body Works I picked up shower gel and body lotion in Cashmere Glow. I really wanted to get a few things from the Juniper Breeze and Stress Relief range, but I knew that I just didn't have the room to bring them back. Bath & Body Works does ship to the UK; the delivery charge is a little steep but totally worth it as all the products would make great gifts or treats for yourself.

And lastly, on a quick trip to Sephora I bought two pro lip brushes, and two nano eyeliners in Blue Jean and Iced Brown. I've been a massive fan of Sephora's eyeliner pencils for many years now, and they do some great shades if you feel like mixing it up with a bit of colour. These half sizes are even better, allowing you to try more shades without committing to full sizes and the higher price tags. I repurchased the waterproof liquid eyeliner, but this time in Grey Glitter too. I also grabbed one of my favourite lip balms - Minted Rose - at the checkout.. Will I ever stop impulse buying? Lastly, I was really excited by the Sephora by O.P.I nail polish collection and ended up picking out four shades; mostly pinky/ plum taupes but also one gorgeous khaki grey shade.

I was really gutted that I missed out on the chance to go to Victoria's Secret, Target and Barnes & Noble, but I know Victoria's Secret will have arrived in the Trafford Centre by the time I get back up to Manchester, if it hasn't already.

Has anyone been over to the States recently - or are you planning a trip? What are your favourite American stores?
